2026 Survey Terms

RIVER FOX TRAIN 2026 RIDERSHIP SURVEY SWEEPSTAKES OFFICIAL RULES 

Official Rules for the River Fox Train 2026 Ridership Survey Sweepstakes. The River Fox Train 2026 Ridership Survey Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is sponsored by Mendocino Railway, doing business as River Fox Train (“Sponsor”). By entering, each entrant agrees to these Official Rules and to Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. 

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. 

The Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees, officers, directors, contractors, and agents of Sponsor and its affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, prize suppliers, and any other person or entity involved in developing, administering, promoting, or fulfilling the Sweepstakes, and the immediate family and household members of each, are not eligible. Void where prohibited. 

How to Enter: The Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Pacific Time on August 18, 2026, and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time on September 30, 2026 (the “Entry Period”). An eligible person may enter by completing the Survey during the Entry Period or by using the free alternative method of entry described below. 

Survey Entry: To enter by completing the Survey, visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/XL65JJH during the Entry Period and complete and submit the Survey as instructed. Each eligible Survey submission received during the Entry Period will receive one entry in the Sweepstakes, subject to eligibility verification and compliance with these Official Rules. 

Free Alternative Method of Entry: To enter without completing the Survey, hand-print your full name, mailing address, email address, telephone number, and state of residence on a postcard and mail it to: 100 W. Laurel St., Fort Bragg, CA 95437. Mail-in entries must be postmarked by September 30, 2026, and received by October 7, 2026. Each eligible mail-in entry will receive one entry in the Sweepstakes, subject to eligibility verification and compliance with these Official Rules. 

Entry Limit and Conditions: Limit one entry per person for this Sweepstakes, regardless of method of entry. Multiple entries submitted by the same person may be disqualified. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, illegible, damaged, misdirected, postage-due, or undeliverable entries. 

Survey Completion Discount: A person who completes and submits the Survey during the Entry Period will receive a promotional code for 10% off one eligible River Fox Train cart purchase made through Sponsor’s official booking channel. The promotional code must be used to book an eligible purchase, and the applicable experience must occur, on or before September 30, 2027. The code is valid for River Fox Train experiences and items, excluding the Murder Mystery Train. No blackout dates apply but all bookings and purchases remain subject to schedules, availability, capacity controls, reservation requirements, cancellation terms, safety requirements, service-disruption terms, and other ordinary operating rules. The code has no cash value, is not redeemable for cash, may not be applied to prior purchases, may not be combined with any other discount, promotion, special offer, annual-pass benefit, group rate, or other reduced-rate offer, and may not be sold, transferred, or reproduced for commercial use. Completing the Survey is not required to enter the Sweepstakes. The promotional code is separate from the Sweepstakes prize and does not affect the odds of winning.

How to Win: On or about October 16, 2026, Sponsor or Sponsor’s designee will select one potential winner in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received. 

Prize, Approximate Retail Value, and Odds of Winning: One Super Fox Annual Pass will be awarded. The approximate retail value of the prize is $499. The Super Fox Annual Pass expires on October 16, 2027, and is subject to all applicable annual-pass terms and conditions, schedules, availability, capacity controls, blackout dates, reservation requirements, cancellation terms, safety requirements, service-disruption terms, and other ordinary operating rules. The prize consists only of the items specifically listed as part of the prize. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. 

How to Claim Your Prize: The entrant whose entry is drawn is not a winner unless and until Sponsor verifies the entrant’s eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. The entrant must satisfy all eligibility requirements in these Official Rules to qualify for the prize. Sponsor will notify the entrant by email using the email address provided at entry. The entrant must respond within five business days after Sponsor sends the notification and must provide any information reasonably requested by Sponsor to verify eligibility and complete prize fulfillment. The information and documents requested may include full legal name, email address, telephone number, current mailing address, date of birth, state of residence, proof of identity, proof of age, proof of residence, prize-claim forms, tax documentation if required, and any information reasonably necessary to issue or administer the Super Fox Annual Pass. If the entrant does not respond within the required time, cannot be contacted, is found ineligible, declines the prize, fails to provide requested information or documentation, or otherwise fails to comply with these Official Rules, the entrant may be disqualified and Sponsor may draw an alternate entry from among the remaining eligible entries. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to be bound by these Official Rules. 

Privacy Policy: Personal information submitted in connection with the Sweepstakes will be used to administer the Sweepstakes, verify eligibility, communicate with entrants, fulfill the prize, maintain promotion records, and as otherwise described in Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, available at https://www.riverfoxtrain.com/privacy-note/. Survey responses may be reviewed and analyzed for customer-experience, operational, marketing, and business-planning purposes. 

General Rules: 

  1. All federal, state, and local taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner. The winner must complete any formsreasonably requiredfor Sponsor to issue tax documentation or otherwise comply with applicable law. 
  2. The prize is not transferable, and no cash alternative or prize substitution is available, except that Sponsor may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize becomes unavailable.
  3. Except where prohibited by law, by accepting the prize, the winner consents to Sponsor’s use of the winner’s name, city and state of residence, likeness, prize information, and statements about the Sweepstakes or prize for advertising, publicity, and promotional purposes in any media, without additional compensation, notice, or approval. Sponsor may require the potential winner to sign and return a publicity release before confirming the prize award. Sponsor will not publish the winner’s email address, telephone number, mailing address, date of birth, government identification, or tax information.
  4. By entering the Sweepstakes, each entrant releases and agrees to hold harmless Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary, and affiliated companies, and each of their respective officers, directors, members, managers, employees, contractors, representatives, and agents, and all advertising, promotion, production, administration, and fulfillment agencies involved in the Sweepstakes (collectively, the “Released Parties”), from and against any claim, liability, loss, damage, cost, or expense arising out of or relating to the Sweepstakes, the entrant’s participation in the Sweepstakes, or the receipt, use, misuse, or inability to use the prize.

Limitations of Liability: The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) lost, late, incomplete, illegible, damaged, misdirected, postage-due, or undeliverable entries; (2) incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors, or equipment or programming associated with or used in the Sweepstakes; (3) technical failures of any kind, including malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in telephone lines, internet service, network hardware, software, or email systems; (4) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Sweepstakes; (5) technical or human error that may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes or the processing of entries; or (6) injury or damage to persons or property arising out of or relating to participation in the Sweepstakes or receipt, use, misuse, or inability to use the prize. If, for any reason, the Sweepstakes cannot be conducted as planned, Sponsor may, in its discretion, cancel, suspend, or modify the Sweepstakes and award the prize in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received before the action taken, or otherwise as Sponsor determines to be fair and consistent with these Official Rules. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded. 

Disputes: Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees that any dispute, claim, or cause of action arising out of or relating to the Sweepstakes or any prize awarded will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action. All issues concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of any entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, will be governed by the laws of the State of California, without giving effect to any choice-of-law or conflict-of-law rule that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than California. Except where prohibited, each entrant agrees to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state courts located in Yolo County, California, or, if federal jurisdiction exists, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of California, for any dispute arising out of or relating to the Sweepstakes or any prize awarded. 

Official Rules and Winner List: To request a copy of these Official Rules, send a written request with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Sponsor, Attn: River Fox Train 2026 Ridership Survey Sweepstakes Official Rules Request, 100 W. Laurel St., Fort Bragg, CA 95437. Official Rules requests must be received by September 30, 2026. To request the winner list, send a written request with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Sponsor, Attn: River Fox Train 2026 Ridership Survey Sweepstakes Winner List Request, 100 W. Laurel St., Fort Bragg, CA 95437. Winner-list requests must be received within 60 days after the drawing.
